On November 24, 2024, the Shanghai Frontier Science Center of AI and Deep Learning hosted the Mathematics of Machine Learning workshop at NYU Shanghai's New Bund Campus. Organized by Professors Mathieu Laurière and Shuyang Ling, the event featured nine talks covering a wide range of topics, including the theory of deep learning, reinforcement learning, optimization, and statistics. Esteemed speakers from Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, East China Normal University, CUHK-Shenzhen, and Duke Kunshan University shared their insights.
The workshop brought together over 50 participants, including Ph.D. students, research associates, and undergraduates, fostering vibrant discussions on recent advancements in machine learning theory, algorithms, and applications.
