Guidelines on GPU use in NYU Shanghai Center for Data Science


1. GPU status:
- Current Purchased GPU configurations: 60 GPU cards
- Current Purchased Storage configurations: 1.7PB


2. Who have access to center GPUs:
- Standing Faculty
- Affiliated Faculty and center-sponsored PhD/Postdocs/RAs with endorsement from a Standing Faculty
(faculty list: https://dail.shanghai.nyu.edu/faculty)


3. Code of Conduct:
- Do not misuse GPUs for purposes not related to the center/clusters
- Do not occupy a GPU card for more than 24hrs for a single job running (if you need to do so, you need to submit a request ahead of time)


4. Standing Faculty application process:
1) First, visit https://shanghai.nyu.edu/page/high-performance-computing to learn more about NYUSH HPC and how to access it.
2) Fill in a standard application form for accessing center GPUs. 
3) The request will be reviewed by the administrator for approval and forwarded to Fan Yang and Guangchao Hu, who are our HPC manager.


5. Sponsored application process (students):
1) First, visit https://shanghai.nyu.edu/page/high-performance-computing to learn more about NYUSH HPC and how to access it.
2) Fill in a faculty endorsement form for accessing center GPUs. 
3) The request will be reviewed by the administrator for approval and forwarded to Fan Yang and Guangchao Hu, who are our HPC manager.
